Hi, I'm Tessa, founder of Tessa's Kitchen HK.
Where are you from?
I'm originally from England but I have lived and travelled extensively throughout the world so now consider myself International. Over the last 25 years I have lived and worked in London, New York, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. Hong Kong is my current home but I also have a home in Spain close to where my husband's family live, which we try and get to as much as possible. I definitely feel inspired by my travels and am always on the lookout for new products to add to my collection.
Why did you start Tessa’s Kitchen?
Throughout my 13 years in Hong Kong, I have struggled to find unique, stylish and affordable tableware. Being a chef, I have spent many years creating food that tastes and looks beautiful but I wanted to combine this with my love of style and interiors and create a tablescape to match. Unable to find what I was looking for, namely beautiful tableware which was also fun, affordable and practical (all our glassware is dishwasher safe!), I decided to take matters into my own hands and so Tessa’s Kitchen was born.
Where do you source your products?
All our products have been hand-picked by me and globally sourced - we currently stock products from UK, China, India, France and Portugal. I especially love sourcing unique and hand-crafted products and have collaborated with artisans and craftsmen from around the world. I am always on the lookout for new collaborations and love to be inspired by travel so watch this space!
Do you have a physical shop?
My house is my shop! I keep all stock at my home in Clearwater Bay (we're running out of space!) and welcome customers anytime to come and take a look if they want to see the products before they commit to buying.
I absolutely love each and every product and I hope you do too!
